The Rare 1943 Irish Florin/ 2 shilling was the final year to be struck in 75% Silver (1928-1943) after which cupro-nickel coinages was introduced. A bag containing 1000 of these coins was transported to Dublin during WWII, then ordered to be returned to be melted down. Just 35-50 examples are now known to exist!!!

There are many fakes been produced of this coin so for obvious reasons  this coin has been independently graded as VF30 and verified as genuine by PCGS to put your mind at rest.
